Number of people freed from totalitarian dictatorships by precision use of American military force under George W. Bush:

Number of people freed from totalitarian dictatorships by anti-American Bush-bashing terrorist-appeasing whining elitists:
Zero. Ever.
...

The problem seems to me to be the definition of "free speech". Liberals define it as anything they want to say or do that opposes America. I say "speech" ends where "action" begins. Once you pick up a gun for the enemy, throw a rock at a cop during a "peace" march, send money to a terrorist organisation, or travel to Baghdad to block an American JDAM with your ass, you have crossed the line from free speech to costly action.
...

Saying the War on Terror is all about al-Qaeda is like saying we should have fought the Japanese Naval Air Force after Pearl Harbor. Not the Japanese Navy, not the Japanese Army, not the Empire of Japan -- just the Naval Air Force.
...

Complaining about the "waste" when human embryos are destroyed instead of being used in medical experiments is a lot like going to a funeral and complaining about the waste of perfectly good meat.
...

Blaming CO2 for climate change is like blaming smoke for the fire. CO2 is largely a following, not a leading, indicator of a rise in temperature.
...

Cavalier's First Theorem:
Every time, Liberals will fight to protect the guilty and kill the innocent, while Conservatives will fight to protect the innocent and punish the guilty.

Cavalier's Second Theorem:
Liberals are just Socialists who want to be loved... then again, Socialists are just Communists who lack the courage of their convictions.

Cavalier's Third Theorem:
Any strongly moral, hawkish or pro-American statement by a Liberal will inevitably be followed by a "but."

Change? What Change?

Ever since John McCain announced that Alaska Governor Sarah Palin would be his Vice President, Conservatives and Republicans alike have been beside themselves with joy. Republican party faithful practically fainting in ecstasy over Palin I can understand, since it almost guarantees McCain a win in November. However, McCain himself has not changed just because he added Sarah Palin to his ticket. He's the same person, with the same attitudes and agenda, that he was the day before -- when the odds were good that he was going to pick Joe Lieberman as his running mate. Nothing is different now. Adding Palin to the ticket has done nothing to change him or his policies, and I, for one, don't think she's going to be setting the White House's agenda if McCain wins. She'll be doing the political equivalent of cutting the opening ribbons at shopping malls. Without altering his own political policies one iota, McCain has tricked a lot of Conservatives into supporting him based on his picking as his running mate a person whose entire job will consist of breaking ties in the Senate... of which there will be damned few, with President "Reach Across the Aisle" setting the agenda.

And yet, Conservatives are flocking to the McCain-Palin banner in droves, sending in those all-important campaign donations. That makes me sad, it really does. Because I can't imagine how anyone could really believe that John "Screw the Conservatives" McCain is doing anything but using Palin as a stalking horse. She's not going to be running the White House. She's not going to be setting policy. She's going to sit in the Senate just in case there happens to be a tie someday, and that's it -- aside from a lot of photo ops. Don't get me wrong -- I like what I know of Sarah Palin so far, aside from the fact that no one seems to know her position on granting amnesty to illegal immigrants. If she runs in 2012 I might even support her. It's just that Palin has only one purpose as part of McCain's campaign: to trick Conservatives into voting for the guy who has spent his entire career stabbing them in the back. And so far, it's working. I guess the McCain-Palin campaign can be summed up as "Change You're Desperate to Believe In."

Isn't it interesting, though, that Biden is completely left out of the picture, and people compare Palin directly to Obama? Probably because there's scant difference between Obama and McCain anyway.
You have hit the nail on the head with McCain though. Palin will most likely end up being the ribbon cutter (Quayle, anyone?) instead of the active role that Cheney now takes. I would go as far to say that the *only* reason I'm now excited for the Republican ticket is just because Palin would have a great shot in 2012...but I'd still choose Romney over her anyway.

Our motto: Sarah Palin is only a heartbeat away!

Exactly. John McCain is a tenacious old guy, and I wouldn't wish harm on McCain (even if he is the ultimate anti-conservative), but I'm kinda reassured by the thought that Palin is there to step in should it become necessary.

The McCain ticket has gained my vote with the addition of Palin just for that reason, although I am not contributing funds this year (and not only because I'm out of a job right now -- I'll be darned if McCain gets one dime of my hard earned money).

I'm glad I'm not the only one besides my hubby who noticed that even though she is an amazing and fantastic choice, she's still just the understudy. No power whatsoever, except she must have a wicked set of scissor-manipulation skills for all the ribbon-cutting she'll be doing.

Well...

I just saw Palin being asked tough questions by Charlie Gibson on ABC news and in my humble opinion, she is Presidential material.

She may be Presidential material, but shes not running for President. Once McCain is elected, she'll have nothing to do but photo-ops for four years -- assuming that he lets her stay that long. McCain does not want to be followed by a Conservative who might undo his "legacy" -- by which I mean mitigate the damage. The republicans will move Left to capture the influx of new citizens all looking for "free" health care, schooling, food and housing.

But Cav, should we send money to Obama instead? Maybe Sarah isn't going to be allowed to do anything besides cut ribbons, but Conservatives aren't being "tricked" into voting for McCain. They were going to hold their noses and vote for him anyway, because there's no way they would pull the lever for Obama.

You've got to do as your conscience dictates, ConservaBabe. I won't vote for either of these two Liberals, no matter what letter they have after their names.

I'm not a Economists, but why will this not work?

30% tax rate, and all taxes paid by the Employer; including his taxes every month, and all the workers will not have to worry about taxes, Social Security, or Health Care!
Not every one will be happy but the majority will! Canada , England , and France have government Health Care so don't we?

Lobbyist for Drug Companies and the AMA have controlled our government for to long ... now is time for change! Congress has come to Washington to get rich, and not serve the people ... that also must change!

The Media needs to be cut out of the congressional business .. and every one should buy Savings Bonds to transfer the debt that America has gotten herself into. In four years the bill will be paid by 25 dollar Savings Bonds, and the debt transferred to the people as it should be, for each worker every pay day ... plus he gets a savings account that can not go broke! no longer would we dip into the Social Security System to borrow to pay Paul!

Everyone should budget ... including the Government ... Federal and State! That is a change don't you think?
