Take the following simple test to see whether you're a Liberal. Keep track of your answers. 21. The recent elections in Afghanistan, Iraq, Palestine and Saudi Arabia... 22. Iran's pursuit of nuclear power... 23. Social Security... 24. Professor Ward Churchill of the University of Colorado... 25. Harvard president Lawrence Summers... 26. Syrian President Bashar Assad... 27. Nazis... 28. Howard Dean's election to head of the DNC... 29. Iran and North Korea... 30. The possibility that President Bush was right in saying that people in the Middle East want freedom and democracy... Mostly a's: No, you're no Liberal. You're a fine human being with a good grasp of the issues. Mostly b's: Yes, You're a Liberal, but there's hope for you. You can be reasoned with. You need to get over the brainwashing you've undergone at school and by the Liberal media, and start thinking for yourself. Mostly c's: If you hate this country so much, why are you here? You'd enjoy Canada or France, or perhaps Cuba or North Korea MUCH more, I'm thinking, and create a job vacancy for a REAL American by your absence. BONUS: If you refused to take this test because tests are inherently unfair... yes, you are definitely a Liberal. Take Part 1 and Part 2 of this test for the full effect. Hat tip to Les Jones for the quotes from Democrats regarding Social Security. |
| Jamie March 6, 2005 09:07 PM PST Hey, I made all "A"s! Cool. | ||
| JM March 6, 2005 10:39 PM PST I'm not surprised. :) | ||
| Skye March 7, 2005 03:24 PM PST Whew...It is nice to have confirmation that I am not a liberal, despite my democratic party affiliation! | ||
| The Outlaw Michael Cosyns March 7, 2005 03:41 PM PST I had: 21a, 22a, 23a, 24a, 25a, 26a, 27a, 28a, 29a and 30a. Thus I don't think I'm a liberal. | ||
| Psychic Ferret March 7, 2005 04:33 PM PST Regarding answer 30c, I propose the following amendment to all Liberal argument: Instead of Reductio ad absurdum, it should now be stated as Reductio ad pan-troglodyte (a mode of argumentation that seeks to establish that a thesis must be accepted because Bush looks like a chimp). | ||
| Psychic Ferret March 7, 2005 04:43 PM PST BTW - all of my answers were "A", except for 24, which I'd put at A and B. Ward Churchill _is_ being targeted for what he said about the 9/11 victims. He opened his mouth without realizing that what he said would reach beyond the safe confines of the academic world. Without the outcry fueled by the Internet, he would have remained what and where he was: a failed, useless radical. Hopefully, he will very shortly be a failed, useless, _unemployed_ radical. | ||
| JM March 8, 2005 02:07 AM PST I'd say that Churchill came to the public's attention because of his disgusting remarks about the 9/11 victims. If he had been an honest person instead of a lifelong fraud, he would have quickly faded back into the well-deserved obscurity whence he came. He'll never be unemployed or poor, unfortunately, but at least I hope that taxpayer dollars won't give him access to twist young minds. | ||
| Juliet March 9, 2005 04:52 AM PST love the entry. I should come by here more often. | ||
