Entry: Mayday for America Sunday, April 30, 2006

Mayday is the international distress signal, from the French phrase m'aidez or "help me." It's also a common term for the first day of May. And this May Day, no one needs help more than the American people.

We have been subjected to a slow-motion invasion by foreigners who knowingly broke our laws when they crossed our borders. They excuse their violation of the law by citing the fact that we have a better economy and more freedom than they can find in their home countries. Every single day they are here, they commit further crimes including identity fraud, theft, tax evasion, falsification of information, misuse of government services and more.

Now these illegal immigrants have the temerity to demand that we grant them amnesty for all their past crimes, and even allow them to apply for citizenship, as though they had followed the procedure to come here legally. They march in our streets, waving foreign flags and signs telling us what to do in foreign languages, fly those foreign flags above the American flag, and have even disrespected our national anthem by rewriting it and publishing their bastardised version in Spanish.

Illegals show their contempt not only for our laws and traditions, but for the millions upon millions of people who have obeyed the rules and spent years waiting for permission to come to America. I have no respect for people who deliberately break the law and then insist that they deserve no punishment, and no respect for those who excuse their behavior. Illegals and their supporters label anyone who simply wants the law enforced a racist, as though "lawbreaker" has its own ethnicity. America is tired of hearing insults and demands from criminals who have no right to even be here.

These illegal immigrants tell us that we can't do anything about their presence, and that if we try, they will cause large-scale economic disruption. We are to be held hostage to a mob of criminals trying to frighten us into submission. On the first of May 2006, they plan to protest, boycott and even close down entire cities to show their "power" over Americans. They claim that they want to be treated like Americans, but real Americans don't deliberately damage our own economy just to make a political point. This is nothing short of terrorism, in my opinion, and it will not be borne.

But who will help us stop these invaders? Who is defending the country? Not our politicians, most of whom are scrambling to curry favor with the new crowd before the others can get a piece of the vote. Not our local law enforcement, which will be too busy with crowd control at these rallies to check for green cards. Not our federal law enforcement, which takes its marching orders from the pandering politicians.

Imagine waking up to find your neighbor sitting on your couch, watching your TV, and calmly smoking a cigarette. He explains that since you have a nicer house than he does, as well as cable tv, he decided to enter through an unlocked window. As he puts his clothes in your closet and his decorations on your wall, the neighbor explains that he has a right to seek a better life and better things for himself. The fact that it's your house doesn't seem to bother him. When you call for help, the police explain that you must simply accept this new addition to your household. He's already moved in, and it would be too much trouble to make him leave. After all, he cleans up after himself and takes out the garbage. Oh, and don't lock that window -- it wouldn't be fair to your other neighbors to start doing so now.

This is the position in which we Americans find ourselves. We're frustrated and angry that those responsible for upholding our laws are ignoring them in a mad scramble for votes. But those illegal immigrants don't have the vote yet, and there will be more elections before they do. More than 80 percent of the American people want border enforcement and no amnesty -- illegal immigration may be the only issue that nearly unites both sides of the aisle. Many Senators and Congressmen who vote for amnesty -- however it's worded -- and against stopping the flow of illegal immigration will lose the power they so cherish.

Many Republicans define themselves as belonging to the party of law and order. This makes them more vulnerable than Democrats, who already pander shamelessly to criminals and foreigners. It may be worse for the country as a whole if the Democrats take the House and/or Senate this year, but it will happen nonetheless, if the Republicans don't stand up for what most of the people want. Even if the Democrats don't take control, enough people will remember which Republicans voted to give amnesty and citizenship to foreigners who perform the ultimate home invasion when the next primaries come around for those quislings.

Enforce the law. Uphold the Constitution. This is what we pay taxes for. We have the right to a reasonable expectation that all will be treated equally before the law. When some people receive special treatment, when the laws are overturned or ignored to suit certain groups, we lose faith in our system and respect for the officials we elected to positions of power. In a time of such turmoil, with our country fighting terrorists and opposing rogue regimes around the globe, can our government really afford to throw away the confidence of its citizens to appease a mob of lawbreaking foreigners?

Let's not find out.

What can we do as Americans to stop this madness, before it is to late? I would go to DC to march, but how do you get Americans off their butts to stand up for OUR rights? I really think if every true American would stand up and say enough is enough, someone would hear our plea. We as Americans are having our rights taken away a little each day. One day WE will be on a reservation or not even here. This is a super serious critical matter. STAND UP AMERICA!! Do something or there will be NO FUTURE for our children or grandchildren, that our forefathers fought so hard for.

Volume is the only thing they seem to respond to. They're surrendering to these illegal alien rallies because of the sheer numbers, and I doubt you're going to get a million regular Americans to walk off their jobs to protest the protests. Get everyone to write, call, fax and email their Congressmen and Senators, politely but often. And make sure they register and vote in the primary elections, to help get the panderers out of office.

I agree with almost everything you write but sadly the war is lost IMHO. The barbarians aren't just at the gates, they're inside them and multiplying fast as you point out. Personally, I believe only the individual can make a difference - to his own life and future. That's why I now spend only a couple months in the US these days and most of my time in Poland, a wonderful monocultural country that is virtually all white and all Christian (and I say this as a devout atheist). At 50, I'm glad I probably won't be around to see the hordes of Muslims and Meskins taking over and running (ruining) the United States entirely.

As I experienced the effects first-hand of Monday's "shut down", I began to recieve bad news for those protesting. The only cities that were ghost towns were the ones these morons are living in. The businesses that closed shot themselves in the foot because it revealed where their loyalties are.

No American would work the jobs that the illegals have AT THAT PAY. So in fact, they ARE taking jobs from LEGAL Americans.

Citizenship should not be granted to children whose parents are here illegally. They never would have been born here had their parents obeyed the law.

And to the woman who I heard on Rush this morning calling to say "let them work here, let them pay taxes and build up social security for my retirement" I say, Are you f-ing crazy??? If that were to actually happen, it wouldn't help you, it would strain the system further.

The commander of the Alamo, William Barret Travis, wrote the following message ten days before the little fort fell to the enemy:

"If they overpower us, we fall a sacrifice at the shrine of our country, and we hope prosperity and our country will do our memory justice. Give me help, oh my country! Victory or death!"

W. Barret Travis ( Lt. Col. Com) - [Fortress Alamo]

Perhaps President Bush should read this.

Illegals give us another slap in the face!

It seems to me that the May 1 protest by illegal aliens is just one more slap in the face of Americans and legal immigrants to this country. These folks are more or less saying, “We do not have to abide by your laws. Because there are so many of us, you can not do a single thing about it!”

I saw one sign in the crowd of protesters that read, “Soon we will vote!” It is that threat which has politicians running scared. They are so terrified that the illegals will soon get to vote and they will remember the politicians who did not bow down to their demands. So, with this attitude, these so-called lawmakers are selling the “legal American citizens” right down the tubes.

After years of neglect, by Democrats and Republicans alike, the problem of our porous border with Mexico is coming back to haunt us. We have been flooded over the years with an influx of illegal aliens and no one seemed to care. I guess we can thank these lawbreakers for one thing; their recent demonstrations have awakened some Americans as to just how many of them are now in this country. The estimated number by most folks is around 12 million but nobody knows for sure, it could be twice that number.

The organizers of these mobs encouraged them to walk off the job or just not show up for work at all, so they could attend the demonstrations. Children were encouraged to walk out of school. But I wonder how many of these illegals boycotted the free healthcare clinics across the country? I heard several people in South Texas say that they knew of pregnant Mexican women, on the other side of the border, who come across just in time to give birth to their child in the United States – thus making the infant an American. Then, after getting the child delivered free of charge, she goes back to Mexico. Guess who’s paying for this type of activity folks? That’s right, you and me, legal American citizens of every ethnic heritage you can think of.

As bad as all of this is, the scary thing is that we are at war and our enemies are sneaking right across the border with all the rest. The way things are now; those who wish to kill Americans can easily come across, bringing their weapons with them. Up to and including nuclear devices. President Bush and the members of the Congress had better put aside their differences and react to this crisis before it is too late!

At this point, I should make one thing perfectly clear; I do not believe that all the illegal aliens are criminals or bad people; they are simply breaking our laws and should be deported. Then, they should apply for citizenship the legal way – they would be accepted with open arms. But waving the Mexican flag in our face and threatening us with boycotts is not going to help their cause. The American people really don’t react too well to threats. I would remind these folks that, although it has not been declared as such, the official language in this country should be English and the flag of this country is the Stars & Stripes, not the Mexican eagle.

I will finish my rant with this: I know of no finer people in the world than the Mexican people. They have great traditions and are family oriented in their ways. I love their culture and I am a big fan of their music and food. And I would shed my blood defending their rights as legal American citizens. It all gets back to that one word, “legal.”

I look up to Pres. Bush highly and have supported him strongly in both elections but I'm so disappointed to see the Republicans not getting their acts together---it gives you the impression that they are weak and not the leaders you voted into office. I would like to see Bill Frist and the rest of those who have shown this weakness stand up and support the President in getting illegal immigration and other important issues in check. While I'm an immigrant too, I waited in line until my status was approved as permanent resident and become a citizen. I paid my taxes, obeyed the law and contributed to my community. These people should be rounded up and sent back to where they came from---how dare them to even display their flag. They can't even speak american and we have to cater to them by translating for them. I hate it when I make a call they would say press 1 for english and 2 for spanish. Why????????????
